Ingredients
Dough:
3/4 cup warm water
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
2 tsp oil
Butter mixture:
1 garlic pod (or) 20 garlic cloves
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
1/2 cup coriander leaves (finely chopped)
Into a bowl add the warm water, yeast, sugar and mix them well, let it sit for 10 minutes so the yeast gets activated. Add the all-purpose flour, salt and oregano to the yeast mixture and knead it into a dough, keep kneading the for 5-8 minutes until soft, and let it rest for 1-2 hours.
Butter mixture:
Make a paste of the garlic cloves. Add softened butter to bowl and add the garlic paste, salt, oregano and coriander leaves and mix well.
After 2 hours take the dough out and divide it into two parts. Roll the dough int a sheet using a rolling pin or stretch it using hands by pressing the dough.
Cut the sheet of dough into 3 horizontal parts. In one part of the dough sheet ,apply the butter mixture along the center of the sheet and pinch the two sides, covering the butter. Stretch the rolled dough and make a knot or any other shape. Place it in a baking tray and bake it in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180 Celsius .
NOTE: The shape of the garlic bread can altered it can be turned into bun or loaf, just note that the time taken for the bread to bake will be a little more.
