NixOS install inside ISO

Live demonstration of installing NixOS using a modern flakes-based configuration with advanced features.

This install script sets up:
• Modern Nix flakes (NixOS 25.05)
• LUKS full disk encryption with remote SSH unlock capability
• Btrfs with impermanence - root wipes on every boot
• Declarative disk partitioning with disko
• Secure Boot support via Lanzaboote (with TPM2 auto-unlock)
• home-manager for dotfile management

The entire installation runs directly from the NixOS ISO - no extra steps, no manual partitioning. Just boot the ISO, run the install script, and get a fully configured system.

Config uses a pragmatic approach: plain .conf/.json files where possible, only using .nix features when they provide clear benefits.

Installation happens entirely in the live ISO environment (works even on machines with limited RAM).
