राजस्थान में पंचायत चुनाव 2026 को लेकर सरकार और राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग में भी आमने-सामने की स्थिति है। आयोग ने सरकार से कोर्ट के आदेश के पालन में सभी सीटों का आरक्षण तय कर सूचित करने को कहा है। लेकिन राज्य सरकार ने यह कहते हुए इनकार कर दिया है कि अभी तक ओबीसी आयोग की रिपोर्ट नहीं मिली है, ऐसे में आरक्षण निर्धारण नहीं किया जा सकता। राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग ने चिट्ठी लिखकर मध्य प्रदेश प्रकरण का जिक्र किया है, जिसमें सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ओबीसी आयोग की रिपोर्ट के बिना भी चुनाव कराने का फैसला दिया था। एक्सपर्ट का कहना है कि ओबीसी आयोग की रिपोर्ट में देरी के आधार पर सरकार चुनाव टालने के लिए कोर्ट को दरवाजा खटखटा सकती है।

The State Election Commission, in a letter, cited the Madhya Pradesh case, in which the Supreme Court had ruled that elections should be held without the OBC Commission's report. Experts say that the government may approach the court to postpone the elections based on the delay in the OBC Commission's report.
