BYU Football 2020 Highlights

Описание: BYU had one of the most interesting seasons in program history, with COVID-19 decimating a schedule that featured several Power 5 opponents. The Cougars were left with only a couple games, that is, until Athletic Director Tom Holmoe was able to put together a schedule last minute with the teams and conferences that were actually willing to play football in the early portion of the season.

BYU finished 11-1 on the season, the best in recent program history, led by NFL-Caliber QB Zach Wilson. Wilson led an offense that came roaring to life, complemented by stellar athletes at all the skill positions and an experienced and physical offensive line. The defense of BYU, often overshadowed by the success of the offense, quietly put together one of the best defensive seasons they’ve had in a while.

BYU finished 16th in the final CFP Rankings, and is looking at a top-12 finish in the AP and Coaches Polls depending on what happens during bowl season. BYU secured wins over then #21 Boise State, Navy, Houston, UCF and San Diego State, with the only loss being to #12 Coastal Carolina in an epic slugfest that came down to 1 yard.
