"Under NAFTA, it was required that in order to be eligible, not only did you have to satisfy the Rule of Origin, you also had to be eligible to be marked as a country of origin of US, Canada or Mexico. According to the NAFTA marking rules, that requirement no longer exists under USMCA, which means it is technically possible to have a good that's country of origin say China or Germany, if manufacturing is being done to it in the US, Canada or Mexico Territory, to be eligible for USMCA."
