Eglise Saint-Pierre de VENDEUVRE SUR BARSE (Aube)

Описание: L’église Saint-Pierre de Vendeuvre-sur-Barse est construite entre 1510 et 1530 sur un terrain donné par Charles II d’Amboise, qui avait acheté la seigneurie à la fin du XVe siècle.
Après avoir été sévèrement incendiée en 1940, ce qui provoqua la chute des voûtes, l’église a été restaurée et inaugurée le 17 février 1963.
L’édifice se compose d’une nef à trois vaisseaux de trois travées suivie d’un transept saillant (double du côté nord).
Le chœur montre une travée droite à trois vaisseaux qui se raccorde à l’abside à trois pans par le biais de pans coupés.
La massive tour du clocher est implantée au-dessus de la travée antérieure du bras nord du transept ; sa base comporte un portail à trumeau de style Renaissance.
Les verrières anciennes, qui dataient du XVIe siècle, ont été définitivement perdues en 1940. Elles ont été remplacées par des vitraux contemporains du maître-verrier et décorateur Max Ingrand (1908-1969).
L'édifice et les vitraux sont classés monument historique (au titre immeuble) en date du 6 juillet 1907.

The Saint-Pierre Church in Vendeuvre-sur-Barse was built between 1510 and 1530 on land donated by Charles II d’Amboise, who had purchased the lordship at the end of the 15th century. After being severely burned in 1940, which caused the collapse of the vaults, the church was restored and inaugurated on February 17, 1963. The building consists of a nave with three aisles of three bays followed by a projecting transept (doubled on the north side). The choir features a straight bay with three aisles that connects to the three-sided apse through angled bays. The massive bell tower is placed above the front bay of the north arm of the transept; its base has a Renaissance-style portal with a trumeau. The old stained glass windows, dating from the 16th century, were permanently lost in 1940. They were replaced by contemporary stained glass windows by master glassmaker and decorator Max Ingrand (1908-1969).
The building and the stained glass windows have been listed as historical monuments (as a building) since July 6, 1907.
