In this experiment I try adding a thin strip of silicone traktape (with adhesive on one side) to a powerful neodymium pawn magnet to increase the coefficient of friction. The effective holding power on a vertical surface is significantly increased to over 2.5 pounds. The magnetic target is an office cubicle with approximately 0.047" thick steel (~18 gauge). This magnet was designed for use on magnetic glassboards with 1/4" thick glass.
