Yeah this video is probably not watchable but these clips are at 10,000 x speed. It's about 14hrs of modeling work condensed into 5 minutes.
This is another camera based on the Raspberry Pi HQ cam. This time it's using a full pi. I also added a swinging display so that made it harder to model.
Currently printing, the front half takes 13.5 hrs to print, back half takes 11 hrs to print and the display holder is another 2 hrs. I'll assemble it soon. Then will focus on programming the menu eg. Pelicam.
SketchUp is not great... not for organic/round modeling anyway. I had a lot of problems fixing the skin to make sure it was a solid/printable. At some point I will learn a different CAD program like Fusion 360.
I start by designing each individual component so I have a volumetric representation and where the screws are. Then I design the body around it. I don't like how this camera turns out, it's different from what I envisioned. Mostly because the parts I had to conform to whatever dimensions they are eg. the size of the display. The sea-foam green filament I have is pretty nasty too once I see it, so I'll literally have a green camera.
