The 2000 democratic presidential election in Serbia led to the fall of Slobodan Milosevic's regime and started Serbia down the path of the democratic development. These democratic elections followed 13 years of transition. This video includes interviews with direct participants in the 2000 Serbian elections, including student activists, opposition leaders, independent organizers. These interviewees identify free and fair elections as a basic precondition for the rule of law and institutional capacity building as the country moved toward democracy. The interviewees also make a comparative analysis with similar events in Iran in 2013. Languages: English and Serbian with Farsi subtitles
