WMATA Metrorail: The Retired CAF 5000-Series Rail Cars

Описание: Adding to my videos of retired fleets, one of my personal favorites, WMATA's 5000-Series rail cars from CAF. A lot of the videos I have of these are underground unfortunately,

These cars entered service in 2001, and retired super early in 2018 and 2019 due to the fleet being plagued with reliability and mechanical issues. These, along with the 1000s and 4000s were fully replaced by the Kawasaki 7000-Series rail cars.

Most of the videos seen here were taken on the Blue, Orange & Silver Lines, with an appearance of these cars on the Yellow line.

These cars were my favorites in the entire fleet. I loved the sounds from the propulsion as they came in and took off. I really wish that they ran in service for at least a few more years.
