Artificial Intelligence – A Brief
Artificial intelligence is a field of computer science that enables the computer system to mimic human intelligence. The two words, ‘artificial’ and ‘intelligence’ clearly indicate “a human-made thinking power.”
Hence, artificial intelligence can be defined as a technology used to create intelligent systems that simulate human intelligence.
An artificial intelligence system doesn’t have to be pre-programmed. Instead, it uses such algorithms which may work with its own intelligence. It involves machine learning algorithms like reinforcement learning and deep learning neural networks. Google’s AlphaGo, Siri, online Chess- all use AI.
Machine learning– A Brief
Machine learning is about extracting knowledge from the info.
It is a subfield of AI which enables machines to draw conclusions from past data or experiences without being explicitly programmed.
ML uses large volumes of structured and semi-structured data to deduce accurate results while forming predictions. The algorithms on which ML works on, learn on their own using historical data.
One thing to be noted here is that ML can work for specific domains only. If a model is created to detect pictures of dogs, it will only show results for dog images. Offering any other replacement data, like a cat, will make it unresponsive.
Machine learning is being used in places like online recommender systems, Google search algorithms, email spam filters, facebook auto friend tagging suggestions, etc.
