Papillons are part of the Toy Group
Weigh 5-10 pounds on average
Have a height of around 8-11 inches
They have a life expectancy of 13-15 years
They can live in any climate
They are okay in small or large living spaces
They are easy to maintain grooming wise, needing to have trimmings done and be brushed once a week
Have few health issues, but are prone to dental problems like all dogs so brushing their teeth is important
They are dainty, energetic, athletic, intelligent, playful and alert
Most papillons can be good with children if properly exposed, otherwise they might be snappy
They are always white with coloured patches
The first papillons were in the 1800’s and were often in family portraits
They are a french breed. The word papillon means butterfly in french
Finally, they are the 8th smartest dog breed
