Mickey came straight outta Spavinaw, Oklahoma, a small town where baseball was king. His dad, Mutt Mantle, was a tough-as-nails miner who dreamed of his son becoming a baseball star. Mutt trained Mickey hard, teaching him to hit from both sides of the plate and pushing him to be the best. They'd spend hours in the backyard, under the Oklahoma sun, with Mutt pitching and Mickey swinging, the crack of the bat echoing through the neighborhood.
