Описание: Letting go of your board if someone is behind you is very dangerous. The board could be long and with the stretch of the leash the board will reach far and possibly hit the person behind you and maybe injuring that person. If there is no one behind you then you could jump off your board and swim under, but then you have the chance of possibly snapping your leash and losing your board.
The best thing to do when you are on a big board and you have a wave approaching you is to do a turtle roll. You will need to approach the wave at a 90 degree angle and about 1,5 meters from the wave you will need to flip over, hold the board tightly against your chest and let the wave roll over you. Once it has rolled over you then you jump back on the board and continue paddling out.
