Описание: Using the Sony ICF-2001D receiver and a weak signal from Radio Mosoj Chaski, I compare the performance of the Wellbrook ALA1530 active loop antenna and a 70 metre longwire antenna. To make life easy with a quick changeover I have plugged the Wellbrook into the Sony's external antenna socket and connected the Longwire to the telescopic antenna with a crocodile clip. In this way, as son as I unplug the Wellbrook loop, the Telescopic is immediately back in circuit. As you will see from this video, around 90 metres there is virtually no difference in the performance of the two antennas. At higher frequencies however, the situation changes - another video to come. Thanks for watching.
