An adventurous route up Kyes Peak. A healthy mix of easy trail, bushwhack, snowfields and scrambling. Clouds convinced me not to go down to Blancas shores but I was still able to have great views of its stunning color from above. Kyes is the highest peak in the Monte Cristo range and easily seen from all over the cascade mountains. It’s a stellar mountain and based on the summit registry, not too often visited. It does require a bit of effort but the payoff is worth it. I’m sure the views are even better on a clearer day.
