How to use Bridge Fittings on shipping containers

A bridge clamp works in conjunction with corner castings and twistlocks. Corner casts (or corner blocks) are fitted to a shipping container to allow vertical and horizontal connections. Additional container lashing equipment such as chains, wires, or straps are also used with bridge fittings, twistlocks and corner blocks to prevent containers from shifting, sliding, or toppling, especially in extreme conditions (such as rough seas or high winds).
