We are currently in Mattu Bhaike village, located in Tehsil Nowshehra Virkan, District Gujranwala, where a historic Gurdwara associated with the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, is undergoing restoration.
The renovation work is being carried out by a US-based Sikh Seva organization, while experts from National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore, are supervising the process to ensure that traditional materials and original architectural style are preserved.
Joining us is Sardar Madhan Singh from Nankana Sahib, who shared that Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji preached against tobacco use at this sacred place. A Sikh family from Sindh is also present, reflecting the deep-rooted faith and unity among Sikh devotees across Pakistan.
Sohana, one of the visitors, expressed that bowing before Guru Granth Sahib Ji feels as if the Gurus themselves are blessing the devotees.
The restoration of the Gurdwara is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, after which Prakash (daily Sikh religious ceremonies) will officially begin again.
