Rambo - Arcade Light Gun Game (Sega 2008)

Описание: The game is based on the events of 2 classic Rambo films, including Rambo: First Blood Part II, and Rambo III. It was developed by Sega and first launched to arcades on the Sega Lindbergh Red EX arcade hardware in 2008.

Players take on the role of the classic warrior John Rambo, who's tasked with rescuing his friend, mentor, and commanding officer from his Vietnam days, Colonel Samuel Trautman, who's been captured by Soviet forces. Rambo is also tasked with saving captured POW's from the Vietnam war.

The beginning of the game depicts Rambo and Trautman attempting to escape Soviet forces as depicted in the desert scene of Rambo III.

The 2nd and 3rd levels depict Rambo's jungle rescue operations from Rambo: First Blood Part II.

The final stage depicts Rambo's rescue of Trautman.

Players are equipped with a machine gun with unlimited ammo. Besides the standard gun, there's a power-up rage mode, that when unleashed increases the fire power of Rambo's weapon, and it temporarily leaves him invincible to enemy attacks. Taking out enemies increases the rage meter.

A meter will often appear above enemies heads, when the meter completes a full circle and turns red, Rambo will take a direct hit, greatly depleting his health in the process. The also helps players to prioritize which enemies they need to target first. Some enemies meters complete faster than others.

Besides being armed with guns, enemies will also throw grenades and fire rockets.

The game is loaded with action sequences! The sequences include hand-to-hand combat inside a helicopter, hitting targets with a bow and arrow, and targeting focal points upon bosses and certain ground troops.

Objects such as crates and barrels are destructible, often hiding medals that increase your score and can provide an extra life if you pick up enough of them.

While your weapon has fully automatic firepower, shooting enemies with targeted bursts will increases your accuracy ratings, and ultimately your score.

Some portions of the game are played from a fixed position, while others follow the path of an all out rail shooter, as seen in the beginning stage when Rambo enters the jeep, as well as his fight from a helicopter along the desert cliffs.

Fans of the classic Rambo series could truly appreciate this game, with its epic throwbacks to 80's cinema in virtually every cut scene of the game. Heck, when bosses are defeated, the game instantly switches to actual scenes from the films themselves to depict the massive explosions.
