We need diversification in literature. Just like a symphony can't be played with just one instrument, neither can the full human experience be communicated through one voice, the male one. 11-year-old Abigail is a student of The British School in the Netherlands, and she is here to tell us that each of our opinions and voices matter!
Abigail calls on each of us to not to wait for an invitation to join the education orchestra and to write our own truths during the TEDxYouth@BSN event.

“Breaking the Mould” is the second TEDxYouth event organised by The British School in the Netherlands. Speakers explore ideas around ‘If I could lead for a day...’, ‘Tackling tough truths’ and ‘Invitations for Change’.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, were x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations). Abigail Chiama is an 11-year-old student at The British School in the Netherlands, who loves to read and write her own stories. Having lived in many different countries, she is able to see things from different points of view. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
