Swimming pond designer Sarah Murch has her own beautiful natural swimming pool in her own garden, Ellicar, near Doncaster, UK; and designs them for a living.
Here she gives her expert top tips on designing a swimming pond with five pieces of advice on what to consider before you start and things you should know, from how to filter the top-up water, to ensuring there's no run-off water or surface water going into the pool.
Her swimming pond is 2.75m deep at the deepest point. All around the pool are breakaway spaces to sit and enjoy the water.
