In this sermon Spurgeon helps us to understand that Earth and Heaven are closer companions than we think.
Some of us would question just how much those in heaven know about events on earth. Clearly there is some knowledge, but details of life here below are probably unknown to them.
Our Lord said that "I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them." (Luke 10:24). If they did not know all the details of our Lord's earthly ministry, would they know the day to day matters of our individual lives? However, here is food for thought, and heart-warming food for the soul.
We read of George Müller that, when his first wife Mary died…“The faith that sustained him in every other trial held him up in this. He lived in such habitual communion with the unseen world, and walked in such uninterrupted fellowship with the unseen God, that the exchange of worlds became too real for him to mourn for those who made it, or murmur at the infinite Love that numbers our days.” (AT Pierce ‘Life of Müller’ p279). May such communion be ours also.
