⚜️ L'annodatura dell'ordito di seta - sia del fondo che del pelo - viene effettuata interamente a mano filo per filo.
I fili dell'ordito di pelo si sollevano secondo uno schema impresso in una serie di cartoni (il design o pattern del velluto), che, posizionati sul telaio, vengono letti in successione dalla macchina Jacquard.
Tutto questo richiede estrema precisione e concentrazione da parte del tessitore, che per tradizione, oltre ad essere l'esecutore finale del velluto o del broccato, è anche l'allestitore stesso del telaio.

⚜️The knotting of the silk warps – for both the ground and the pile – is carried out entirely by hand, thread by thread.
The pile warp threads are lifted as dictated by the plot punched in a series of cards (the design or pattern of the velvet) which are read one after the other by the Jacquard machine.
The entire process requires extreme precision and concentration on the part of the weaver; by tradition, besides being the final creator of the velvet or brocade, he is also the person who prepares the loom.
