In the main barn sat two small Italian cars, parked side by side and left exactly where their working lives ended. A red Zastava 750 and a white one alongside it. Tiny cars by any standard, built from Fiat’s idea that motoring should be affordable, simple, and accessible. These weren’t toys, and they weren’t novelties. They were proper everyday cars, used hard, relied upon, and eventually replaced when they no longer made financial sense to keep going.

When these were parked here, they were worth nothing. Old, slow, basic, and disposable. That’s why nobody thought twice about leaving them behind.

Decades later, their simplicity is exactly what gives them value. The shapes still work. The idea behind them still works. They represent a time when cars were built to move people, not impress them. Honest machines that quietly carried on until the world moved past them.

Sharing the same space were two small turbo cars, tucked in among everything else. Not displayed, not preserved, just parked and forgotten. It tells you everything you need to know about this place. This was never a collection. It was simply where cars ended up when their job was done.

Next door, in a much smaller barn, sat something completely different.

Where the Italian cars were born from necessity and post-war practicality, the Austin comes from an older mindset entirely. Bigger, heavier, more formal. A car from a time when motoring carried presence and authority. It feels older, more deliberate, and far removed from the tiny machines sitting next door, yet it ended up here for the same reason.

It reached a point where it was no longer worth anything.

Two barns. Two very different types of cars. One shared fate. Parked when they were obsolete, ignored when they were unwanted, and now sitting quietly as reminders of how quickly ordinary cars become important pieces of history.

That’s why places like this matter.
