Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tabled the Uniform Civil Code bill in the state assembly on February 6 amid chants of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Congress said it doesn’t oppose the bill but is against the flouting of rules, claiming it has not received the copy of the draft bill which the BJP government wants to pass in the four-day special assembly session. All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has also opposed the bill saying it is in conflict with the Constitution. But why the UCC is so controversial. Watch this video to know.
