Описание: As per the latest news on Times Now, Union law minister Kiren Rijiju opens up about the government's promise of a Uniform Civil Code, which has been in discussion for a long time. Still, no official statement has been given by the government so far. Rijiju, this time, has made the government's stand clear by saying that Uniform Civil Code is not just for Bharatiya Janata Party but also a Nation's Ideology. And a lot of states have started to accept it, including Uttarakhand. As his comments drew protests from the Opposition Benches that the stand of a party cannot reflect that of the government, the minister shot back and said that it is only a party that forms the government.
"Constitution makers talked about uniform civil code. The social issues that I have mentioned whether it be same-sex marriage or living in a relationship or other fundamental issues that have come up. Several states are moving towards UCC. Goa already has UCC and other states like U.P and Uttarakhand are moving in that direction. Is it not the time that we implement UCC, what is the government about this.", said Nishikant Dubey, BJP MP.
Meanwhile Union Law Minister, Kiren Rijuju said," Nishkant Ji has asked about uniform civil code. You know what is the government's view on this. Our party’s Ideology on this should be considered the nation's Ideology too. What we think about the country. I am proud of that. It is the party that forms the government.
