Roll-out marks Karnataka's continued focus on electric mobility and advanced manufacturing
Bengaluru, 12th January 2026: Shri M.B. Patil, Hon'ble Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries (excluding Sugar), Government of Karnataka, today rolled out Yamaha's first electric scooter, EC06, in Karnataka. The roll-out took place at River Mobility's manufacturing facility in Hoskote, Bengaluru Rural district, in the presence of Hon'ble Members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
The event was also attended by Shri Sharath Kumar Bacche Gowda, Hon'ble MLA, Hoskote; Ms. Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director, Department of Industries & Commerce and Chairman, KUM; Dr. Selvakumar S, Principal Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries; Mr. Jim Aota, Chairman, Yamaha India; and senior representatives from Yamaha and Mitsui, including Mr. Yamamoto, Mr. Mochizuki, Mr. Koeda, Mr. Inagaki, and Mr. Ashimoto.
The roll-out of Yamaha's first electric scooter marks an important milestone in Karnataka's journey towards becoming a leading hub for electric mobility and advanced manufacturing. The state continues to focus on attracting global manufacturers and enabling the establishment of high-quality production facilities aligned with future mobility and sustainability goals.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri M.B. Patil, Hon'ble Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries (excluding Sugar), Government of Karnataka, said, "This is truly an exciting moment not just for the companies involved, but for Karnataka's industrial growth story. When we see a world-class product being manufactured here, it gives us confidence that Karnataka is firmly on the path to building the next generation of mobility and manufacturing.

Karnataka has been on the forefront of innovation and clean mobility and it gives me immense pleasure in participating in the roll out of this Yamaha EV from Hoskote, a product from Karnataka to the world. The Yamaha EC-06 being made in Hoskote signals a shift toward practical, high-quality urban mobility built for Indian city conditions. This project will generate greater economic value through job creation, a stronger local supply chain, and new opportunities for MSMEs, especially in industrial hubs like Hoskote."

The roll-out is aligned with the Government of Karnataka's Industrial Policy 2025-30, which places strong emphasis on advanced manufacturing and future mobility sectors. Karnataka continues to

attract global manufacturers across automotive, electronics, and technology domains, with companies from Japan, Europe, and the United States establishing and expanding manufacturing operations in the state. The presence of global companies such as Yamaha and Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn reflects growing international confidence in Karnataka's industrial ecosystem and its long-term growth vision.
