A felony, you're facing prison. A misdemeanor, you're facing county jail time. A violation of your probation can be either felony or misdemeanor. Felonies come in different degrees. There's first, second, and third degree felonies, and there's even life felonies. A first degree felony means up to 30 years prison. Second degree felony, up to 15 years prison. Third degree felony, up to 5 years prison. Misdemeanors can either be 60 days jail or up to 1 year in jail, whether it's first or second degree misdemeanor. A violation of probation can be any of those.
