How to e-Shim - electro-mechanically shimming in automated production

Описание: PROMESS has developed an electromechanical shim that can be used in the positioning of any assembly in the micrometre range.

If, for example, after joining an assembly in car body construction, a form deviation is detected that lies outside the tolerance, the fixture must be readjusted. This is currently done with shims of different thicknesses, which are placed manually under the positioning elements. In order to be able to insert the shims at the appropriate points and adjust the assembly, production has to be interrupted in a time-consuming manner.

The e-shim from PROMESS is dimensioned in such a way that it can be implemented in existing fixtures without the need for costly adaptation of operating equipment. Via an external control, the e-shim can be adjusted according to the previously determined form deviation. Adjustment of the e-shim is carried out while the line is in operation.
