Описание: Fans of Walter Hill's The Long Riders, Ed Harris' Appaloosa and The Wild Bunch cannot miss this character-driven western action movie, that plunges us into the rugged territory of Oklahoma, following the exploits of three legendary lawmen: Heck Thomas, Chris Madsen, and Bill Tilghman, collectively known as The Guardsmen. Their mission is to purge the land of the outlaws who threaten the peace and emerging order.

In order to achieve this goal, The Guardsmen start a relentless pursuit of Richard West, a dangerous criminal who seeks refuge with the Williams family, menacing them into misleading his pursuers. As the lawmen close in, they are confronted with complex moral dilemmas, forcing them to re-evaluate their rigid approach to justice in a land still wrestling with its identity.

While the main plot suggests traditional Western themes of justice and lawlessness on the frontier, and the use of classic Western iconography (horses, firearms, vast landscapes, a pursuit), the "moral dilemmas" that The Guardsmen need to face hints however at a Revisionist Western angle. This sub-genre often deconstructs or challenges the romanticized myths of the Old West, portraying its figures with more ambiguity and questioning simplistic notions of good versus evil.
