Loose Tenon Router Mortising Jig | DIY Floating Tenon

This time I made a new mortising jig for loose tenon joinery. I already made a multi-function router jig in past, that can be used for cutting mortises but this one can be set up only once and then repetitively used to make mortises. It is a huge time saver in the shop, specifically, if you are building several cabinets and all the wood pieces are the same. The mortising jig consists of several parts - a base, an upright assembly with T-tracks, and a plateau for the plunge router. The jig is portable and can be positioned on a benchtop and secured with clamps. T-tracks on the upright assembly can accommodate both t-bolts as well as T-track clamps. The plateau can be adjusted as necessary and contains left and right stoppers to set the desired length of the mortise.
