Enjoy these crispy and fluffy Uddina Vada, a classic South Indian snack made with soaked urad dal and simple everyday ingredients.
Perfect for breakfast, tiffin, or as a tea-time snack! 😍
✨ Ingredients:
½ glass urad dal
1 tsp salt (as required)
1 tbsp rice flour (akki hittu)
1 tbsp chopped curry leaves
1 chopped green chilli
¼ tsp jeera
¼ tsp crushed pepper
½ chopped onion
2 tbsp chopped coconut
Coriander leaves
Oil for frying
👩🍳 Method:
1️⃣ Soak urad dal for 6–7 hours, or 3–4 hours in hot water if you are in a hurry.
2️⃣ Blend it into a thick and fluffy paste, adding just 2–3 spoons of water.
3️⃣ Beat the batter for 10 minutes to make it light and airy.
4️⃣ Add salt, rice flour, curry leaves, green chilli, jeera, pepper, onion, coconut, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
5️⃣ Wet your hand, take a portion of the batter, shape it with a hole, and gently slide it into hot oil.
6️⃣ Fry on medium flame until golden and crispy.
