استحقت الصاعقة أن تكون فى مقدمة الجيش تزامنًا مع سلاح الطيران فى حرب أكتوبر 1973، لتمهد الأرض للتشكيلات المختلفة نحو بوابة العبور من الهزيمة إلى النصر - على قلة الإمكانات ومع فروق التطور فى مجالات السلاح مقارنة بالعدو - وبالتالى ساهمت فى رفع الروح المعنوية للمقاتل المصرى التواق إلى لحظة تحرير ترابه المقدس.



لقد كان لهذه الزيارة تحديدًا أبلغ الأثر فى نفوسنا ولا تزال، بعد الاطلاع على سجل الصاعقة الحافل بالبطولة عبر التاريخ، والتى يرجع أصل تسميتها بـ"فرقة الصاعقة" إلى عهد الملك رمسيس الثانى، الذى كون فرقة من الحرس الخاص، تكون مهمته الاستطلاع والهجوم، وعرفت باسم الصاعقة، حتى اتخذت شكلها الحديث على يد الفريق "جلال هريدي" أول من أنشاء "فرقة الصاعقة" ضمن صفوف القوات المسلحة فى العصر الحديث، وتحديدًا عام 1955م

In the name of the Thunderbolt, until it took its modern form at the hands of Lieutenant General Jalal Haridi, the first to establish the “Thunderbolt Division” within the ranks of the armed forces in the modern era, specifically in 1955 AD.
