How to tell if your cat is blind (how blind cats cat)

To answer multiple repeat comments, first and foremost, YES, everyone got chicken afterwards. It's just a two handed job that's dangerous to attempt with a camera in hand, so it was not filmed. There will be videos later of everyone getting treats, so don't worry about that.

Secondly, yes, a laser pointer may be a good tool to see if a single cat reacts to that particular stimulus. In our particular circumstance though, we have at least one sighted cat that doesn't even acknowledge the laser pointer because they're so disinterested with the light. They just stare at my hand, which could, in the case of a blind cat, be attributed to following the sound of my clothing... so at the time of the making of this video, I didn't feel it was a good idea to mention, even though it may be part of the ultimate process for some cats, simply because it would be somewhat difficult for me to document. I don't have any editing software or even experience with that sort of thing, so what you see is basically what I've got to offer.

Important update 4/3/23:

Bruce, one of the stars of this video, passed August of 2022. He had been living with and fighting lymphoma for about a year before we had to make the incredibly difficult and heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully. He'd been through multiple surgeries to remove tumors, was on pain meds to keep him comfortable, but eventually he stopped getting up on his own, stopped eating, and things took a turn for the worst.

We still miss him dearly.
