Winter ride to Spiti valley | Episode 3 - riding on snow | Nako frozen lake | playing with kids

Episode 3, Day 4, 5 & 6

Day 4 : After reaching Nako we looked out for an accommodation got ourself a home stay, we couldn't sleep at night because it was extremely cold, temperature dipped to -22, -23 degree, even after wearing multiple layers of clothing, taking 2 blankets and having the heater switched on i was shivering at night. it was completely unmanageable, how ever some how we survived the night.
Today morning when we woke up and looked out of the window the view was mesmerising, we could barely see outside as there was frost on the window glass, when i steeped out in the balcony could notice the snow covered Nako village, which was completely white, it snowed heavily a night before and thus the entire valley is covered with snow, even the motorcycles, Nako monastery all of it is covered with snow.
Plan for the day is to have breakfast and fix snow chain on motorcycle, test them and if the weather permits, Ride to Kaza. how ever it took us complete day to fix the snow-chain & even there was continuous snow fall.
We could fix the chains perfectly on royal enfield himalayan but we were unable to fix the same on thunderbird so we have to do some make shift arrangement by ting the jute rope
Day 5 - After fixing the snow chain, we finally decided to leave Nako and head towards Kaza / Spiti valley, we started from village, after reaching bus stand we came to know that the roads are closed because of landslide and heavy snow fall, so we can go towards kaza.
We then decided to go towards reckong peo, but we couldn't because the roads are closed in that direction as well. with no other option we had to come back to Nako.
We waited at the local eatery in Nako, after waiting for a while we came back to home stay.
As the weather was clear & it was bright and sunny, we thought of taking a stroll in the Nako village & decided to visit the famous frozen Nako lake, so we walked through the narrow village lanes met some local kids, and reached the nako lake. we even played foot ball on the frozen lake.
It was an amazing view complete white spiti.
