Croatia - Susak Apologises For Croat Infringements

At a press conference in Zagreb on Monday (7/8) the Croatian
Minister of Defence Gojko Susak claimed that all military activity
had stopped in the former sectors north and south of the Krajina
regions. Susak apologised to the Danish government for the use of Danish peacekeepers as human shields during the Croatian offensive.

SOT Defence Minister Gojko Susak "we might undertake some police
actions but military actions we have stopped after 84 hours the
croatian army with the help of croatian police..managed to reach
our goal..we had a few incidents and i want to apologize for
them..apologize to denmark for the death of one of their soldiers;
....also apologize for use of danish soldiers as human shields. We
arrested soldier responsible for it and he will be tried. We also
apologize to govt of chech for death of two of their un soldiers.
this offensive came as result of the split agreement btw croatia
and bosnia, this was a coordinated action btw the two govt,
muslims and croats, where 200,000 soldiers were involved from both
sides. On first day of offensive we tried to avoid cities with
large population giving them last chance to surrender themselves
in accord with geneva conventions.
