Variable Impedance Actuators: Moving the Robots of Tomorrow

The video gives an overview of the major achievements of the EU project Viactors. Viactors aims at developing and exploiting actuation technologies for a new generation of robots that can co-exist and co-operate with people and increase the capabilities of e.g., manipulation robotics, locomotion and rehabilitation robotics. The video starts with different Variable Impedance Actuators developed and then provides different examples where the benefits of the adaptable impedance are presented.
