Being the oldest woman in the community, she took in orphaned children, widowed young adults, and nursed the sick as best she could in their dire living conditions. Led by Kathryn Haueisen, the author of seven books, including "Mary Brewster’s Love Life: Matriarch of the Mayflower" and "Mayflower Chronicles: The Tale of Two Cultures." Haueisen is the descendant of Mayflower passengers, including Mary Brewster, and has conducted extensive research on her life.
