I bought a thermal camera and decided to use it to check out the Prescott Pentium 4 pc and I am glad I did. Prescott chips are know for running hot and old computer cases usually don't have the best ventilation which makes for a deadly combination. The after market Cooler Master CPU cooler seams to be doing an alright job keeping the CPU in check but the lack of overall airflow in the case was pushing the VRM to the breaking point. I recently picked up this Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS and the thermal paste on it was so hard I'm sure it was original making it 20 years old now. I used Artic MX-4 thermal paste and the case fans I added are also Artic brand 80mm fans.
