Here is my final ride onboard a 2008 CAT C9 Suburban NABI 415.16 on the 80 between Journal Square and my home on West Side Avenue. This would end up becoming my final ride onboard a Greenville 2008 CAT C9 Suburban as their units were retired in favor of the 2026 New Flyer XD40s.
As of December 2025, Greenville no longer house any CAT C9 NABIs with their units (5241-5277, 5309-5312) being either been retired from service or transferred to Fairview. With the deliveries of the 2026 New Flyer XD40s beginning in September 2025, Greenville was the first to get them, with 25201, and 25203-25249 currently at Greenville, with many more expected in the coming weeks. As a result, the CAT C9 NABIs began dropping like flies, with the last two units (5245, 5269) leaving for Fairview in December 2025. 5244 was retired before, having last ran on November 26. Currently Fairview and Washington Township are the only garages running CAT C9 NABIs, with Greenville, Meadowlands, and Orange no longer having any left. Get your rides as fast as you can before they're gone.
