Описание: At first glance, this caterpillar seems perfectly ordinary, resting quietly on a leaf. But appearances deceive. Unlike most of its relatives, this tiny predator does not nibble on foliage. Equipped with pincer-like arms, it waits in stealth, hidden between two leaves, poised to snatch an unsuspecting fruit fly.

Curiously, the majority of caterpillar species native to Hawaii have evolved carnivorous habits, though the cause remains unknown.
