Watch in HD! Yesterday my father and I went up to the High Desert around Barstow, California, in search of trains. We missed out on most of the traffic in the morning, but got a lot of variety in the afternoon on the Needles Subdivision. Plenty of interesting power was seen including Warbonnets, leased Canadian Pacific GE ES44AC's and AC4400CW's, Citirail CREX leasers, and a DASH 8-40BW on a manifest freight. Interesting locations include the bridges over the Mojave River at North Victorville, the reverse curves at Pisgah, straight track with a view of Huell Howser's house near Hector, the "dip" at East Pisgah, and the curves at Lavic.
