By Special Request, Ryan stuck around for a solo encore, and performed a staple of the RTB / RTB2 repertoire.
This song is called "Tom Petty Summer," originally by a band from Austin called "Leatherbag." I was fortunate enough to see Leatherbag perform this song at this same venue back in 2011. At that point, RTB2 had already been covering this song for years. But the RTB Cover Version was never officially released until the "RTB & Last Joke" album, "Last Joke Band."
This concluded the RTB Band's show at Dan's SilverLeaf in Denton TX, on Nov 14, 2024. The set featured a mix of songs from RTB / RTB2, as well as some new songs for a forthcoming album!
