Who was Ree-Yees — the three-eyed Gran enforcer lurking in Jabba’s Palace?
Serving the ruthless crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure on Tatooine, Ree-Yees was more than just background decoration. He acted as muscle within the palace, clashed with rivals in Jabba’s court, and stood among the criminals who confronted Boba Fett — only backing down because of Fett’s fearsome reputation.
In 4 ABY, he witnessed the arrival of Luke Skywalker, the capture of Princess Leia Organa, and the desperate rescue of Han Solo. He even eagerly watched Luke battle Jabba’s rancor before the Jedi crushed the beast.
Ree-Yees later accompanied Jabba aboard the sail barge to the Great Pit of Carkoon — but when the heroes fought back, Jabba’s empire fell in flames. The explosion of the Khetanna ended Ree-Yees’ story for good.
From background alien to expanded-universe enforcer, Ree-Yees remains one of Jabba’s most memorable henchmen.
