Dolphin Challenge - Texas Sea Grant

Описание: The Dolphin Challenge is a regional competition of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB), hosted and sponsored by Texas Sea Grant at Texas A&M University–Galveston. This fast-paced, quiz-style academic competition brings together high school students to test their knowledge of ocean sciences, including marine biology, oceanography, climate science and coastal processes.

Student teams compete in head-to-head rounds for the opportunity to advance to the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, pending national scheduling and funding. Participation provides students with academic recognition, increased visibility, and eligibility for scholarship opportunities, while encouraging a deeper understanding of ocean and coastal systems.

The National Ocean Sciences Bowl enriches science education nationwide by inspiring students to explore marine and aquatic sciences and become stewards of the environments critical to our planet’s future.

The Dolphin Challenge also relies on volunteers to support competition-day operations, including roles such as moderators, judges, scorekeepers, timekeepers, runners, hosts, and photographers. Volunteer training is provided, and participation offers a meaningful leadership and service opportunity in science education and outreach.
