Mock drill at Qazigund Railway Station as security tightened in Kulgam ahead of Republic Day.

Описание: KULGAM 19/January/2026:-To ensure the peaceful and smooth observance of Republic Day, stringent and extraordinary security arrangements have been put in place across Kulgam district in South Kashmir. As part of these measures, security forces on Monday conducted a comprehensive mock drill at Qazigund Railway Station to assess preparedness and ensure a prompt and effective response in the event of any potential untoward incident.
During the mock drill, security personnel carried out practical exercises involving swift action in various simulated emergency situations, identification of suspicious activities, and measures to ensure the safety of passengers.
Meanwhile, additional security has been deployed at all vital locations, highways, intersections, and sensitive areas across Kulgam district. Police, CRPF, and other paramilitary forces are jointly conducting patrols, while checkpoints have been established at several places where thorough checking of vehicles and pedestrians is underway.
According to security officials, these measures aim to ensure public safety and facilitate the peaceful conduct of Republic Day celebrations. The administration has appealed to the public to cooperate with security personnel and immediately report any suspicious activity to the concerned authorities.
