Saudi Arabia Is Losing CH-4 Drones in Yemen

Описание: The Houthis have reportedly shot down another Saudi-operated Chinese CH-4 combat drone in Yemen. Images of the wreckage appear to show the drone alongside an AR-1 air-to-ground missile, with damage also visible around its seeker.

And this may not be an isolated loss. Reports from recent fighting suggest that at least four CH-4 drones may have been brought down. The drone is designed for both reconnaissance and precision strike missions, so losing one can mean losing not just an aircraft, but a valuable source of battlefield surveillance and targeting capability.

The losses come as Saudi-backed Yemeni forces conduct ground operations against the Houthis with Saudi air support. If the Houthis continue successfully targeting these drones, Saudi Arabia may face a bigger challenge: maintaining persistent ISR and precision-strike coverage over the battlefield while its forces operate on the ground.
