Watch singer-songwriter ELENA give an emotive live performance as part of futuretense, our free gig series showcasing the next generation of music talent.
A London girl with Scottish roots, ELENA fuses genres of jazz, soul and dark ethereal pop. With an honest and delicate grit, her songs explore themes of happiness and heartache with dreamy story-led lyrics and emotive melodies. Among ELENA’s many musical influences are powerful female artists including Jhene Aiko and Julie London.
futuretense is a fortnightly free gig series presented by the Southbank Centre in our Queen Elizabeth Hall. It provides both a platform for emerging artists and a welcoming space to enjoy live music in London. In 2024, BBC Music Introducing became a futuretense partner, helping to continue our commitment to supporting grassroots music and underrepresented artists.
