My approach is to simply drone over a static note and limit myself to the notes of the scale, allowing me to fully explore the sound of it. However, there are plenty of other ways to study scales.

I later added some notes and chords to the droning C note and implied some chord movements over it that encapsulate the sound of Ultra Locrian, basically a vamp between Cdim7 and C augmented.
