DeShawn's work in fashion brings us to NY Fashion week where she has Keyed shows for top designers, to all the way to the Guinness Worlds Record as being Beauty Director for the longest Runway Show in the world. Her work has been in magazines: Vanity Fair, Vogue (MX) Essence, Ebony, Zink, on over a dozen covers, and over 100 publication all over the world. Some of her celebrity clients are Grammy winners, Oscar nominees, All-Star Athletes, and dignitaries (even a President).

DeShawn is an internationally requested artist and speaker. She has been an educator for IMATS (International Makeup Artists Trade show) The Makeup Show, The Powder Group, and many cosmetic companies. Some of the topics she teaches aspiring makeup artists, Red Carpet Makeup, The Fundamentals of Makeup Artistry, Makeup For Women of Color and much more.

In 2015, she wrote the industry bible ASSISTING RULES! The Ultimate Guide for Assisting Makeup Artists and Hairstylists in Beauty Fashion & Print is an industry bible. (#assistingRules)
